Renaming the blog

For over a decade, this blog was called Drop a Blog. It wasn’t a particularly good name. It was simply because my catch-all domain back in the day was wedrop.it, and Drop a Blog fit that theme.

I recently decided to move the blog to a new domain; presumably the one you’re seeing this page is on now1: sebastian.lauwe.rs. This means that the old blog name doesn’t fit at all anymore.

I brainstormed a few names, and after a bit of thought and advice from friends, ended up with the following shortlist:

  • Technically Personal,
  • Refactored Reflections, or maybe Reflections, Refactored,
  • The Binary Bard.

I sat on the decision for a few days, and eventually decided on the first one: Technically Personal. After all, this is a reasonably technical blog, but I do also sometimes dive into more personal topics. I’ll try it out for a little while and see if I like it. I am feeling quite noncommittal about the name simply because it’s not really that big of a deal.

Special thanks to Maria for coming up with The Bearded Binary Bard Blog. I suppose in a few years’ time, if I ever decide to start a culinary column it could be called The Balding Binary Bard’s Belly.

  1. Unless things have gone horribly wrong with this domain.
